North Carolina Sunset

I took these pictures on Christmas Eve night off a shoreline in North Carolina while waiting for my son to arrive home from his deployment.  It was truly a magical sunset and the prettiest one I think I've ever seen.

Happy New Year to all and many thanks for visiting me over the past year.  I pray for good sense to prevail in our leaders as we struggle to keep the world balanced, safe and prosperous for all.  Blessings to all for love, good health, happiness and warm family time in this New Year.

  1. Fabulous photos - much better than my "Sunset Boulevard" ones. Must have been a perfect day for you in more ways than one.

  2. Following on from your recnet comment... have you ever witnessed the "Green Flash" phenomenon? At the exact moment the sun appears over the horizon, in some conditions it makes a green flash effect. We saw this on a trip to Baja California once, and it was amazing.

  3. Yes, Mark, as a matter of fact I've seen it once! I was on Sanibel Island in South Florida about 8 years ago and we were at this restaurant which sat right on the water and it happened just as we were eating dinner. And yes, it was amazing!! Wow, I had forgotten all about that...thanks for reminding me :)
