My son is a 1st Lieutenant, an Infantry Officer, in the United States Marine Corps. He left today for Afghanistan. Harry and I pray every day for his safe return to his beautiful loving wife and precious baby boy. We will fly this deployment flag in our son's honor until he is safely home with his family. We are so very proud of him.
Godspeed Mike...Semper Fi
I know you are proud of him. I thank him for serving our country. God bless!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome photo with the helicopter! I am sure he will happy to get back to enjoy his family and your cooking soon!

ReplyDeleteHi Kelsey. That photo was taken in Haiti last year. His Company was temporary deployed to help help after the earthquake. The good thing is, his wife is as good a cook, if not better, as I am! She's definitely a better baker! He's well fed :)
Thank you, Cat. Any and all prayers are deeply appreciated.
This day came sooner than I had expected! We will all pray that he stays safe and return to his loving family. We are all very proud of Mike! Thank you for defending our country, but please stay safe.
ReplyDeleteLove to all,
Esti

ReplyDeleteThank you Beth. Mike is an amazing young man and we are so proud of him. He is the finest Marine officer out there :) (But I'm a bit biased of course :)
I visit your blog to enjoy your Texas garden, God Bless your son---a son is very special, mine is 20 and my youngest, so your son is in my prayers---you fly that flag high---and be proud!...Roberta:-)
ReplyDeleteYour son and his family are in my prayers. I also have a son that was in the military for four years. He is now going to school and will return to the military as an officer. So I know how proud you are of him but at the same time worry about him.
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by Roberta. Yes, sons are very special indeed. And we do fly this flag high and with great pride!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim...blessings to your son as well. Yes, there is worry, but most days the pride and love we feel for him overshadows any worry :)
Having been in the Army myself (11 years, also in infantry), I know how you feel. There will be some anxious moments for you all, but I earnestly hope your boy will return unharmed, having played his part as he will have been trained to do.
