Isn't this cute?! A friend gave me this edible bird house for Christmas and I think it's wonderful!
I wondered how long it would take the birds to find it? How about only 24 hours! I saw this beautiful Lady Cardinal perched on it the morning after I hung it out.
The birds that frequent my feeders throughout the seasons are an integral part of my life in the Texas hill country. This lovely bird feeder not only adds a whimsical element to the landscape, it also provides food for my feathered friends.
Thank you Tisha!
That's sweet! Beautiful shots with the Live Oak in the background!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cat :) It may seem kind of corny, but the birdhouse really is cute!
ReplyDeleteNice birdhouse but how did they get the seeds to stay on?
ReplyDeleteHi Birdhouses...I think they used some type of sugar/syrup mixture. Thank you for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteThis is a very pretty bird house that any bird would love to call home or restaurant. Probably won't be looking like a house for long though.
ReplyDeleteHi Donna! Yes, it is (was?) a pretty bird house but you're right...it doesn't look much like an edible birdhouse any more :) It's just about eaten away...but I'm so glad they enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea! The birds could move in and eat their way out! Yum!! :o)
ReplyDeleteTS...the birds have done a pretty good job of eating the seed, but it's still beautiful hanging from my tree. I'm hoping that the elusive Eastern bluebirds that hang around here will find it and build a nest in the box! I'll keep watching for that :)
ReplyDeleteThat bird house had your name written all over it. I just knew that your garden would be the perfect setting for it and that there would be a host of feathered friends queuing up to discover its delights.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tisha! I've so enjoyed the birdhouse! The birds have eating almost all the seed away but it still beautiful hanging there!
ReplyDeleteWhat type of material is best? They come in wood, resin, stone, cement, ceramic and metal. Resin ones are easiest to keep clean. They are a lot lighter. However, the drawback is they are more slippery. The bottom should not be smooth.
